”Before the Wedding” is short film about a young woman forced to choose between freedom and tradition, adressing themes as gender-roles, heteronormativity and honour culture.

It’s Michelles henparty and she should be happy. Her sister Diana is thrilled to prepare her for her big night as a new bride and her future life as a wife, but Michelle’s heart is already taken; and not by the groom. Trapped in family expectations, Michelle is scared to admit her feelings for her exgirlfriend Lova who suddenly appears at the party. The meeting of the two women reveales the truth about Mihchelle’s limited autonomy to choose for herself. After the movie there is a conversation between the director Rebecka Cardoso and two of the actresses Sharzad Rahmani and Jenny Salomonssen and the audience.
