Våld i nära relationer och hbtqi
Pride House, Thu 4 Aug 5:00 PM–5:45 PM
Relationship violence (or intimate partner violence) is a global issue occurring within all societal groups and cultures. Still, the possibilities to seek and receive help are not equal depending on who is subjected to the violence. People identifying as LGTBQ+ are identified as vulnerable group due to the heteronormative views on relationship violence.
Fempowerment is an organisation offering support and legal advice in different languages for girls, women and transpeople subjected to relationship violence. This autumn, we are also starting counseling groups for LGBTQ-people.
In our presentation, we will present the mechanisms of relationship violence along with the consequences of excluding LGBTQ-people from the debate regarding the matter. Lastly, we will inform where you can turn to for help if you are or know someone who might need it.
