Global solidaritet - Marching for those who can't
Pride House Stream, Sat 1 Aug 7:00 PM–7:45 PM
Marching for those who can’t is a reminder of the reality of many LGBTQI people across the world. Unfortunately, the right to live as who you are without risking violence and oppression is not something that everybody can take for granted.
We can see how the corona pandemic is now being used by homo and trans phobic authoritarian leaders to tighten the grip on power and pursue a discriminatory policy. One example is Hungary, where parliament swiftly banned citizens from changing legal their gender. In Uganda, 19 LGBTQI people were arrested accused with spreading the corona virus, making the pandemic yet another tool used to harass LGBTQI people in the country. There are more examples, and we continue to follow developments.
