Black Lives Matter: an LGBTQI asylum perspective

Black LGBTQI people seeking asylum in Sweden are regularly discriminated against, devalued, dehumanised and deported by the Swedish Migration Agency. The "burden of proof" is on the Newcomers to convince the migration office of their LGBTQI identities and the danger they face in their home countries. Along the way are countless challenges, struggles and traumas.

RFSL Newcomers Stockholm will offer a panel discussion with experts and real stories from Black newcomers in Stockholm outlining their experiences of being both Black, LGTBQI and seeking asylum in Sweden.
