Spoken Word, Hiphop & Pop

Swedish artist and producer Bara Karin has been described as a singing therapist for women. In fact, she is also a psychologist. Her latest single “Five Times a Day”, released May 5, depicts sexual exploitation and life within the mental health care system in Sweden.
Bara Karin doesn’t shy away from bringing up sex in an uncomfortable manner; her single ”Fuck Me Like a Robot” questioned the penetration norm and made fun of the porn industry. It was reviewed by both national and international media.
Her music has been described as space pop with "a breath of fresh air in a diversity-devoid landscape of sterilized sameness”. This summer, she’ll be performing at the Pride festival in Stockholm (August 4th), and in 2023 it’s time for the release of her full-length album. She continues to bring up sex through a feminist lens and experiment with her voice. She mixes seriousness with humor and tells stories about sex trafficking, domestic violence and the porn industry. In other words, Bara Karin continues to highlight taboo subjects, just like in therapy.
